Embroidered Dragon
This is aother sample I made for the Fall 2006 Quilting Arts article.With the exception of the wings, which are cut out of Angelina, and the facial features, it's worked entirely in embellished stitches.
In this detail picture you can see how the tail was worked by laying down a base of back stitching in green embroidery floss and then threading the back stitches with a heavy gold thread.
