This was my second experiment in using silhouetted figures. I designed the figure in Poser, then imported the outline into Photoshop, enlarged it to the desired size and printed it out. The printout was a guide to tracing the figure on interfacing; I then covered the interfacing with scraps of fabric and thread, machine-quilted them into submission and cut out the figure before appliqueing it onto the background fabric and embroidering the hair. I had intended to add beadwork, as in "Gold Dancer" - part of the point of making this piece bigger was to give me a bigger canvas for embroidery and bead embroidery - but at this point Number One Daughter came through the sewing room and said, "It's perfect like that, just quilt it and give it to me."

So I did.
